While for most people, the easiest way to relocate to countries in Europe outside of studies is through job offers, it is possible to relocate to Germany even without a job offer, as a Nigerian or anyone from the international community.
This is thanks to what is known as the Chancenkarte or the German Opportunity Card. With this, you will have the opportunity to stay in the country for up to 12 months, during which you are expected to secure a job that will allow you to apply for a permit that will keep you in the country for a much longer time.
What is the German Opportunity Card?
The German Opportunity Card is a visa program that offers skilled and talented individuals from the international community the opportunity to enter Germany without a prearranged job, allowing them up to a year to find employment.
This card offers two paths to migrating to Germany: the Skilled Work route and the Point-based route. While the skills-based route emphasizes qualification, the point-based system is about things such as experience, language skills, and age, among other things.
