What makes this news even better is that it is very easy to secure remote jobs whether you have the regular tech skills, such as programming, data analysis, digital marketing, or cyber security among many others or not. 

The benefit of doing remote jobs is that a majority of them do not require any experience, you can work from anywhere, you get to choose your working hours, and you get paid in hard currencies.

One of the most lucrative and easy to nail remote jobs as a Nigeria is software development. Many companies all around the world, both in web2 and web3, are looking for software developers and engineers to develop and manage their applications.

As a software engineer, you can be hired as an individual or part of a team to build and maintain anything from a video games to mobile applications, web applications, operating systems, and much more.

2. Digital Marketing

  • Skill required: SEO, SEM, and Content creation
  • Average salary: Over $500

As a digital marketer, your services will be required to help various social media channels and online platforms to build their brand, reach out to their customers and audience, and makes sales.

You will be required to be in charge of the content marketing or those who may require your services and also come up with, or implement various digital marketing strategies.

This is one of the most sought after remote gigs that you can get. In between 3 to 6 months, you can learn most of all you may ever need as  a digital marketer.

3. Graphic Designer/Video Editor

If you are good as a graphic designer with tools like Corel Draw, Canva, Adobe photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or others, or you can edit simple videos, your skills can also fetch you a remote job as a Nigerian. Many companies and individuals running social media pages are always looking for people who will design graphics for them or edit short clips.

Apart from having the skills and understanding how to use graphic designing and video editing skills, all you need to secure a good remote job is your creativity and a good portfolio.

4. Content Writing

Content writing is another great way of securing remote jobs abroad as  a Nigerian. Many companies and websites across niches are looking for people to write for them. If you have some skills as a writer, you can always find yourself a writing gig whether you are trained in the medical line, sciences, marketing, or any other field.

As a content writer, you may be required to write copy, blog posts, articles, and in some cases, social media scripts for your clients.

5. Virtual Assistants

To be a virtual assistant, you do not need to have any tech skills; it is one of the top remote jobs typically for “unskilled” people.

What you are expected as a virtual assistant is to provide administrative support to businesses and individuals who may be needing your services in running their day to day activities effectively. You will be required to handle tasks such as receiving and making calls, emailing traveling arrangements, making research, social media management, and much more.

The role of a virtual assistant may be broad but it is not complex. And as a remote worker, you can do this from anywhere around the world.

Customer Support jobs have also become very popular among remote workers. Your role can vary depending on the firm or client hiring you.

Your work may include responding to customer emails, live chat, making and answering calls, or other activities around solving the needs of customers or responding to their inquiries. Other tasks that will be assigned to you will include building relationships with customers and collaborating with various departments.

One doesn’t necessarily need a tech skill to excel as a customer service representative. The required skills include good communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to details, and time management.
