With a Nigerian passport, Nigerian citizens can travel to several countries, mostly in Africa and the Caribbean, without a visa. Apart from these, there are others that Nigerians are eligible to visit and obtain a visa on arrival.

Visas for these countries can be obtained when you arrive in the country, either at the airport or border crossing point. You will be required to complete paperwork and make payments that will depend on the country you are visiting. In this article, we look at 15 such countries.

Visa on Arrival Countries for Nigerian Citizens

1. Burundi

Located in East Africa, Burundi offers a tourist visa for Nigerians, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 30 days from the date of entry. If you need to stay in the country for a much longer time, you may be required to get a regular visa.

2. Cambodia

Located in Asia, Cambodia is another country where, as a Nigerian, you get to obtain a visa even after you have landed in the country. That said, it is advisable to obtain a regular visa before you begin your journey, as policies can change at any time.

3. Comoros

This is another country, located in Africa, where a visa on arrival is possible for Nigerians. The visa that can be obtained through this means is a tourist visa, which can be issued in a matter of minutes after arrival. It is valid for 30 days, although it can be extended by 45 days.

4. Lebanon

Located in the Middle East, Lebanon also allows Nigerians to visit and get their visa on arrival. The validity is much shorter when compared to others, as it gives a validity of 15 days.

5. Madagascar

Another country that the Nigerian passport allows to gain a visa on arrival is Madagascar. Leaning on this policy, tourists and people on a short business trip can go to the country and stay for between 30 to 60 days with the option of extending to 90 days.

6. Maldives

Found in South Asia and one of the countries known for its tourism, the Maldives has a visa-on-arrival policy for Nigerians. This policy is open to tourists who are not staying in the country for more than 30 days.

7. Mauritius

A beautiful tourist destination, Mauritius is open to Nigerians to obtain a visa on arrival. This is for those on tour or for business individuals for a short business stay. The visa is mostly for a maximum of 60 days.

8. Mozambique

Mozambique welcomes Nigerians to stay in the country and obtain their visas on arrival. The condition for this is that they will only stay for a maximum of 30 days before they will exit the country or seek a visa renewal.

9. Tuvalu 

One of the top tourist destinations in Oceania, Tuvalu, makes it possible for Nigerians to obtain a visa on arrival for up to 30 days. This is mostly for tourism purposes.

10. Palau

For tourism purposes, Palau is another country in Oceania that allows for Nigerians to obtain a visa on arrival. The visa is available for a stay of up to 30 days.

11. Samoa

With a Nigerian passport, proof of sufficient funds, and a return ticket, you can head to Samoa in Oceania, where you can obtain a visa on arrival and spend up to 60 days for either tourism or short business. This is thanks to a policy that makes it possible for Nigerians to come to the country and obtain a visa after arrival. If you wish to stay for longer than 60 days, you will require a regular visa.

12. Seychelles

Seychelles is another country in East Africa, where Nigerians can visit even without a visa, although they will be required to obtain one on arrival. The visa is valid for up to 30 days.

13. Timor-Leste

For tourism or business purposes, Timor-Leste joins the list of countries that offer a visa on arrival for Nigerians. Like most others, the visa is limited to 30 days.
